Meet Stacey Schumacher
Stacey Schumacher is from Era, Texas where she and her husband Scott maintain a commercial Angus-influenced cow/calf operation as well as a registered Angus herd. Along with retaining ownership of their calves and selling them on the grid, they also sell corn finished Angus beef direct to consumers. Stacey and Scott operate S&S Enterprises, a commercial fertilizer application company.
The Schumachers run stocker calves on wheat pasture and also farm corn, wheat, milo and sesame. Stacey also maintains a large herd of registered Texas Longhorn cattle and has served on the governing board as well as several committees for the Texas Longhorn Breeders Association. She most recently served as president of the Texas Longhorn Heritage Foundation, a nonprofit that serves to help longhorn breeders in need and also awards youth scholarships with in the longhorn industry.
Originally from Sulphur Springs, Texas, Stacey earned a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce and a master's degree in liberal arts from Southern Methodist University. She is the founder and Executive Director of the Texas Coalition for Animal Protection, a nonprofit that aims to end euthanasia in animal shelters by providing low cost spay/neuter as well as basic wellness services. Stacey and her husband Scott have two children, Stran and Selah.
As a member of the legacy Lone Star Ag Credit board, now the recently merged AgTrust Farm Credit board, Stacey has served in roles on both the Governance and Compensation Committees. She has been present and active at all regularly scheduled board meetings and has traveled on behalf of the members to represent the Farm Credit system in Washington, DC at the Farm Credit Fly In as well as through other trainings and events throughout the nation. Stacey works to be both diligent and prepared at all these events to represent members and AgTrust with professionalism.
