Dear AgTrust Farm Credit Member,

I respectfully ask for your consideration and your vote in this year’s AgTrust Farm Credit board election.

Building a strong financial future for your family takes hard work, sweat and accessibility to capital. The newly merged AgTrust Farm Credit has provided leadership and working capital to help our farming operation to grow, to remain viable and to be open to opportunities for more than fifteen years. AgTrust Farm Credit has been an invaluable resource to us. 

 

The opportunity to represent you, and the entire AgTrust Farm Credit cooperative, is something that I take very seriously.

My husband Scott and I have a commercial Angus-influenced cow/calf operation throughout Cooke County, Texas as well as a growing registered Angus herd. Along with retaining ownership of our calves and selling them on the grid, we also sell corn finished Angus beef direct to consumers.  We utilize artificial insemination in our herds and value quality genetics, nutrition and stewardship.  We also operate S&S Enterprises, a commercial fertilizer application company. 

​

We run stocker calves on wheat pasture and also farm corn, wheat, milo and sesame. We maintain a large herd of registered Texas Longhorn cattle, and I have served on the governing board as well as several committees for the Texas Longhorn Breeders Association.  I recently served as president of the Texas Longhorn Heritage Foundation, a nonprofit that serves to help longhorn breeders in need and also awards youth scholarships with in the longhorn industry.

As a cooperative, AgTrust Farm Credit is comprised of both paid office staff, as well as a governing board of members of the community, who are committed to the success of AgTrust's operations and ability to meet the demands of an ever-changing economy.

I recognize the value of the farm credit system and it's my privilege to again have the opportunity to serve in a board position. Like you, my family has partnered with AgTrust  Farm Credit to underwrite our farming and ranching efforts, to build our dream home and to purchase land to grow our operation.  Great staff, involved board leadership, accessibility to capital and quality representation within the farm credit system are paramount to AgTrust Farm Credit remaining a viable option for financing growth with the farming community.  I believe I can continue to offer these things to the AgTrust Board if reelected to serve on your behalf.

Through my work founding and overseeing the Texas Coalition for Animal Protection, a nonprofit whose mission is to end pet euthanasia by providing low cost spay and basic wellness services, I understand the role and benefit of a professional, involved and effective board of directors.  I am well versed in administrating a business from its infancy, facing ever-changing governance issues, recruiting and training quality staff and ensuring great customer service to every customer who visits my business.

AgTrust has been a wonderful partner to our family’s farming and ranching operation.   I have taken my responsibility of representing you, a member of the AgTrust family, very seriously. I continue to serve you and the leadership with pride, preparedness and a sense of responsibility.

 

For a cooperative to work well, all its members need a voice.  It would again be my privilege to again serve on the AgTrust Farm Credit board of directors.  I welcome your questions and value your feedback on how AgTrust could better serve you, your family and your farming or ranching operation.  Diversity in any board is important, and all voices on the board are valued. Both my ranching and professional work experience have given me a unique voice to both advocate for others and to build working relationships in many board rooms.
